Biographical Information: Frederick was born on 13th July 1901 in Gosport, Hampshire to parents Frederick and Maud Bailey. He attended The Royal Hospital School, Holbrook from May 1913 to September 1915. He signed up for the Royal Marines on 31st August 1915 and joined immediately after leaving school. He was trained at RMLI, Portsmouth. He was the husband of Vera Bailey and they lived at 29 Vickerman Street, Halifax, West Yorkshire.

Frederick was 39 years old at the time of his loss.
