Biographical Information:

John was born on 12th April 1921 in Fulham, London to Ernest and Ethel Giffen. The family later lived in West Brompton, London. John had 2 brothers, George (known as Bill) who fought in Burma and Ernest who fought in Dunkirk; also three sisters Rose, Joan and Shirley. He was 20 years old at the time of his loss.
