Biographical Information:

"Ted" as he was known, was born on 3rd October 1913. He was the youngest son of James and Ada Harvey of 12 Foxhills Road, Ottershaw, Chertsey, Surrey. He was the husband of Mary Harvey, of Dunoon, Argyllshire. Ted is believed to have joined the Navy circa 1932. He served aboard the aircraft carrier H.M.S. Courageous prior to joining Hood. Shortly before he was lost, he had passed qualification exams for promotion to Petty Officer.

Ted was 27 years old at the time of his loss.
