Biographical Information:

Ivor was born on 23th May 1917 in Tirphil, Glamorgan to Joseph and Annie Barnett. The family later lived in Gloucester. Ivor was married to Ethel Barnett. He was 24 years old at the time of his loss. Ethel passed away in 1968, at the early age of 48.

Ivor and family. The lady to Ivor's left is his wife Ethel Merrett, with her sister Gwendoline. On the other side of Ivor is his younger brother Joseph Melville Barnett (1920-1999), who became an Olympic and World Championship weightlifting medallist in the 1950s.
