Biographical Information:

Leslie was born on 30th September 1923 in Southwark, London to Leading Seaman Percy Joyce, R.N., and Lily Joyce.

The family later lived in Mile End, Portsmouth - the 1939 Census shows them living at 140 Shearer Road, Leslie having entered the Royal Navy and serving as a Boy with his father still a Leading Stoker serving, at the time, in H.M.S. Argus.

Leslie was 17 years old at the time of his loss.
