Biographical Information:

John was born on 21st October 1920 in Carlisle, Cumberland to Thomas and Caroline Kelly. The family later lived in Pelaw, Gateshead, County Durham. He was serving as an Acting Ordnance Artificer 4th Class at the time of Hood's sinking. He was 20 years old at the time of his loss.
