Biographical Information:

Herbert was born on 3rd August 1918 in Blue Town, Sheerness, Kent to Herbert and Lillian Lane. He was the husband of Constance Lane. He and Constance married on 25th Dec 1939. Their daughter, Norma, was born a month and a half after the sinking of Hood. Sadly, she died just two years later.

Herbert was 22 years old at the time of his loss.
