Biographical Information:
Walter was born on 5th September 1920 to Mrs. A. Latimer, of Thurso, Caithness, Scotland. He was 20 years old at the time of his loss.

 Walter Latimer with his comrades on one of Hood's twin 4" guns. These guns, which had good capability against aircraft as well as surface targets, were fitted to Hood in 1940, replacing the elderly 5.5" single guns previously mounted. |
