Biographical Information:

Jack, as he was known to family and friends, was born on 28th December 1899 in Poole, Dorset to parents Jack and Gertrude Maitland. He joined the Navy on 18th July 1914 and was ultimately awarded the Long Service, Good Conduct and N.G.S. (Palestine) Medals. Jack was also an amateur musician and was always organising bands on ships. He was the husband of Violet Maitland, of Copnor, Hampshire. Jack was 41 years old at the time of his loss. We have no additional information.
