Robert Alan Beard
'Alan' as he was known to his friends and family, was born on 21st January 1920 in Tamworth, Staffordshire. He was the adopted son of Reginald and Elizabeth Talboth (nee Beard), of Glascote, Warwickshire. He was a member of 4-inch gun crew Number 4. He was 21 years old at the time of his loss.
