H.M.S. Crew List

It is estimated that as many as 18,000 men served aboard the 'Mighty Hood' during the operational portion of her 21 year career. Unfortunately, there is no surviving official single listing of ALL men who served in her. Here you will find our attempt at creating such a listing. We are using the few, fragmentary crew lists known to exist, Navy Lists, various official reports, public records, and most importantly of all, inputs from the families of former crew.

Hubert Anthony Lucius Marsham

Biographical Information: Hubert was aboard Hood during the 'Empire Cruise' of 1923/1924. He was a bowler for one of her Cricket teams. Hubert eventually gained the rank of Commander and received an O.B.E for naval services during the 2nd World War. He was captain of the submarine H.M.S Rover, his Great Grandfather and Grandfathers going back to Charles Marsham 1st Earl of Romney have been presidents of the marine society up to the present day.
