Biographical Information:

'Dingle', as he was known to his friends, was born in Kings Norton, Warwickshire on 11th December 1922, the only son of Harry and Laura Bell of Birmingham. He joined the Royal Navy in 1937, age just 15. His initial training took place at H.M.S. Ganges. He was subsequently drafted to H.M.S. Renown in 1938.

After the outbreak of war in 1939, he was drafted to H.M.S. Hood. He was lost in the sinking of Hood on 24th May 1941, his mother's birthday. He was 18 years old at the time of his loss.

He is still mourned by his three sisters Lorna, Barbara and Margaret. He has 7 nephews and nieces 12 great nephews and nieces and nine great great nephews and nieces. He is still part of their lives and will be revered by them for all time. We have no additional information.
