Biographical Information:

John was born on 24th September 1922 in Dundee, Angus, Scotland. He was the nephew of Mrs J. Leitch of Beechwood. He joined the Navy as a Boy Seaman and was trained on H.M.S. Caledonia. He subsequently served in the Empress of Britain, Empress of Australia, the Royal Yacht and lastly Hood. He was 18 years old at the time of his loss.
