Biographical Information:

Ernest was born on 20th March 1920 in Wakefield, Yorkshire, one of nine children (7 boys and 2 girls) in his family. He was the youngest of the boys.

He was engaged to Edith Stacey of Outwood, West Yorkshire, but was lost in action before they could wed. He was aged 21 when he was lost.
