Biographical Information:

Hugh was born on 9th October 1923 in Glasgow, Lanarkshire, Scotland. He attended First St. Anne's Church. He joined the Navy in 1938 and was subsequently trained at H.M.S. Caledonia and H.M.S. St. George. He was drafted to Hood in time for the operation at Mers-el-Kebir. He was 17 years old at the time of his loss.
