Biographical Information:

"Tiny" as he was known, was born on 2nd January 1923 in Khartoum, Sudan to Stanley Ernest Rowe and Jean Duff Rowe. His father was a regular Army officer serving abroad at that time. Tiny had three younger siblings- brothers Robin and Richard, plus sister Tessa. Like Tiny, all were born abroad.

Tiny was educated at the Xaverian Collage, a Roman Catholic school. He joined the Marines after the outbreak of war and was posted to H.M.S. Hood just a week before she was sunk. He was 18 years old at the time of his loss.
