Biographical Information:

Murdoch was born on 12th November 1922 at Harlaw Hill, Canonbie, Dumfrieshire, Scotland to parents Captain Reginald Solman, R.E.M.E., and Janet Solman, of Nelson, Lancashire. He is known to have a brother, Francis. He was 18 years old at the time of his loss.
