Biographical Information:

Walter was born on 17th March 1905 in Lowestoft, Suffolk. He was the son of Thomas and Jessie Treloar. He was the husband of Hilda Treloar, of Highbury, London. Together they had a son, Clifford.

Per his family, Walter was serving as an Acting Petty Officer at the time of his loss. This is based upon the claim filed for his will benefits. Unfortunately, due to an oversight, the MoD has him officially listed as a Leading Seaman.

Walter was 36 years old at the time of his loss.
