Biographical Information:

"Billie" as he was known to his family, was born on 14th July 1895 to John and Grace Trevarthen, of Camborne, Cornwall. Although married, Billie and his wife did not have any children. He served in Hood as the Manager of the ship's NAAFI canteen staff.

The family remember Billie telling them how, regardless of what ship he was on, he was always sick before they cleared Portsmouth harbour. He also told them that the fact that he couldn't swim didn't concern him as "I'd be in the galley if the ship was hit." Billie was 45 years old at the time of his loss.
