Biographical Information:

Cyril was born on 29th March 1922 to parents John and Edith Bell of Bardney, Lincolnshire. Prior to joining the Royal Navy, Cyril worked as a Claims Inspector for the Liverpool and London and Gote Insurance Company. He was also an active member of the Lincoln Junior Chamber of Commerce.

Cyril was a keen sportsman and served in several clubs: He acted as secretary of the local Billiards club, was chairman of the local Cricket club, and his sportsmanlike actions on the field were an inspiration to all. His services were sought by several clubs in the county.

Cyril was 30 years old at the time of his loss.
