Biographical Information: Left Hood at Scapa Flow immediately before she sailed to intercept Bismarck. On hearing the news that Hood had been lost, and being unaware that Charles had left the ship, his mother fainted in the High Street bringing traffic to a halt.Charles also served in H.M.S. Wild Swan (D62) and was aboard her when she was sunk.
