H.M.S. Crew List

It is estimated that as many as 18,000 men served aboard the 'Mighty Hood' during the operational portion of her 21 year career. Unfortunately, there is no surviving official single listing of ALL men who served in her. Here you will find our attempt at creating such a listing. We are using the few, fragmentary crew lists known to exist, Navy Lists, various official reports, public records, and most importantly of all, inputs from the families of former crew.

Biographical Information: Cy joined the RN on 28 July 1936. He was posted to Hood as an Ordinary Seaman on 25 May 1937. He left Hood as an Able Seaman on 26 Jaunary 1938. He left the Navy on 2 October 1940 due to health reasons. He eventually moved to the USA where he lived until 2005. He relocated back to the UK where he passed away in 2012.
