H.M.S. Crew List

It is estimated that as many as 18,000 men served aboard the 'Mighty Hood' during the operational portion of her 21 year career. Unfortunately, there is no surviving official single listing of ALL men who served in her. Here you will find our attempt at creating such a listing. We are using the few, fragmentary crew lists known to exist, Navy Lists, various official reports, public records, and most importantly of all, inputs from the families of former crew.

Biographical Information: Tom volunteered on 5.11.1935 for 12 years. He started as a Boy andfinished his service as a Master at Arms on the 11 March 1960. During thewar he was on Motor Gun boats. He served on HMSs Sussex, Scott, Naiad,Beehive, Kestrel, Cleopatra, Royal Arthur, as well as the Ganges andPembroke where he trained recruits. He also assisted with the RoyalTournament in 1957 and 1959 at Earls Court. He died on the 5 November 1993, 58 yearsto the day he signed up for the Royal Navy.
