H.M.S. Crew List

It is estimated that as many as 18,000 men served aboard the 'Mighty Hood' during the operational portion of her 21 year career. Unfortunately, there is no surviving official single listing of ALL men who served in her. Here you will find our attempt at creating such a listing. We are using the few, fragmentary crew lists known to exist, Navy Lists, various official reports, public records, and most importantly of all, inputs from the families of former crew.

Biographical Information: Born in Eastbourne. In New York at time of armistice. Served as a bodyguard to HRH the Prince of Wales in his 1921tour. Married in 1925 to miss Archie Edna saunders. Left 14days later on H.M.S. Barham on two and half year commission. He represented the Mrines at Olympia. The only marine on Hood o receive the King's Silver Jubilee medal and certificate dated 6th may 1935. Had two sons Macdonald John Miller and Terence Miller.

Died of pneumonia at Haslar Hospital Gosport. Aged 36.
