Biographical Information:

Leslie was born on 19th February 1920 to parents William and Dorothy Capon, of Sandhurst, Berkshire. He attended Branksome Hill School. A keen sportsman, he enjoyed swimming plus played football for the village of Sandhurst.

Leslie left school at age 14 and went to work at Camberly Co-Operative Society on the bakers round. He married his wife Dorothy at age 19 and entered the Navy shortly afterwards. He was 21 years old at the time of his loss.
