Biographical Information:

Edwin was born on 13th February 1910 in Portsmouth, Hampshire. He was the youngest son of Mr A. Chatfield. Prior to serving in Hood, he served in Palestine (for which he was awarded the British Empire Medal), Dunkirk and Narvik. He and his wife had two children and lived at 98 Pretoria Rd, Southsea. He was 31 years old at the time of his loss.
