Biographical Information:

'Ken', as he was known to his family and friends, was a member of Hood's NAAFI canteen staff. Ken was born 22nd March 1922 in Hornsey, Middlesex to Robert and Charlotte Algate. The family is believed to have lived in Plymouth later. He was 19 years old at the time of his loss.

This photo of Ken was donated by Gary Davies. Ken was Gary's grandfather's cousin. The photo shows Ken standing on the deck of Hood at Rosyth in 1940. Hood was there having the left gun of "A" turret replaced.
