Biographical Information:

Eddie, as he was known to his family and friends, was born on 29 November 1919 to James and Charlotte Allen, of Brighton. As a child, Eddie attended the Pelham Street School. He was a keen sportsman and won the Midge Boxing Championships in 1933. He was 21 years old at the time of his loss.
