Biographical Information:

"Charlie", as he was known to his friends, was the born on 27th November 1920 to Alfred and Charlotta Floyd, of Edinburgh, Midlothian, Scotland. He studied electrical engineering at Heriot Watt College in Edinburgh (along with his close friend and shipmate George Forrest. who also died in Hood). Charlie (and George) joined the Navy after the outbreak of war and were stationed in several locations before joining Hood. Charlie was 20 years old at the time of his loss.
