It is estimated that as many as 9,000 men served aboard the "Mighty Hood" during the operational portion of her 21 year career. Unfortunately, there is no surviving official single listing of ALL men who served in her. Here you will find our attempt at creating such a listing. We are using the few, fragmentary crew lists known to exist, Navy Lists, various official reports, public records, and most importantly of all, inputs from the families of former crew.

Biographical Information: volunteered for the Navy on the 4th Leonard joined the Navy in May 1937 fora term of 12 years. Much of his service was in the Mediterranean aboard various ships to include Hood. He served aboard Hood from 1937 to 1939 with a brief assignment to H.M.S. London from 29 Sep-02 Oct 1938.
He also spent time working with submarines such as HMS Dolphin (Alecto). His last assignment was to HMS Assegai in South Africa from September 1942 to December 1944 (at which point he was medically discharged).
