The following photographs were sent in to the site by Jim Higginson. They are from the collection of his father, Marine James Roland Higginson who served in Hood from May 1937 to May 1939. The photos are all from 1937 and 1938, when Hood was assigned to the Mediterranean Fleet. There are a wide variety of shots of the ship, her crew plus other ships and various ports of call.

Above- The Greek flagship "Georges Averoff" entering Grand Harbour, Malta
Above- The British destroyer "Hunter". She was damaged of Gibraltar.
Above- German Cruiser "Leipzig" at Tangiers
Above- A British cruiser, possibly "Shropshire" or "London"
Above- The British battleship "Nelson" entering Grand Harbour, Malta
Above- The British battle cruiser "Repulse"
Above- The elderly British ocean liner R.M.S. "Aquitania"
Above- The "Nelson", "Warspite", "Malaya"and "Royal Oak" at Gibraltar
Above- Combined Fleets at Gibraltar in 1937. Hood is the big one (second ship from the left, just ahead of "Rodney")
Above- The legendary British battleship "Warspite"
Above- The Turkish flagship "Yavuz" at Malta, 1937. She was formerly the German battle cruiser "Goeben".
