The following photographs were sent in to the site by Michael Mason. They are from the collection of his uncle Vernon Mason who served in Hood during the 1930s.

Above- Ammunitioning ship. 15 inch shells coming aboard.

Above- A silhouetted view of Hood circa 1940. Note the smoke...evidence of a strong tail wind.

Above- Swimming along the ship's side at Gibraltar in mid 1940.

Above- Hood off Scotland in late 1940 (note the degaussing cable newly fitted to the upper portion of the hull).

Above- A Mk XVI 4" High Angle/Low Angle gun crew in action, 1940. They are working "S3", the last 4" gun on the starboard side of the Shelter Deck.

To the right can be seen 4" ready use ammunition lockers and the aft pom pom bandstand.
