These images were sent-in by Barrie Knowles. The photos show his father, Able Seaman William Knowles and fellow crewmembers on Hood. William served in Hood from 7 January 1926 until 27 August 1927 and was a member of her championship rowing teams.

Above- Hood's football team, late 1920s. William Knowles is front row/centre. They are posing on the starboard side of the After Superstructure. On the left side of the photo, note the canvas "curtain". This covered a number of large, squarish windows that encircled the rear of this structure. Rarely photographed this closely.
 
Above- Hood at Gairloch during the Summer Cruise of 1927.
 
Above- The Hood's trophy winning Seaman's Gig team of 1927. They are posing by the port side of the lower bridge.
