The following photographs were sent in to the site by Barrie Knowles. They are from the collection of his father, Able Seaman William Knowles. William served in Hood from 7 January 1926 to 27 August 1927 and was a member of her championship rowing teams.

H.M.S. Hood football/soccer team, 1927 or 1928
Above- Hood's football team, 1926 or 1927. William Knowles is front row/centre. They are posing on the starboard side of the After Superstructure. On the left side of the photo, note the canvas "curtain". This covered a number of large, squarish windows that encircled the rear of this structure. This structure was rarely photographed this closely.
