Biographical Information:

Thomas was born on 17th June 1921 in Grangetown Cleveland to William and Jane Elizabeth Hambley. The family later lived at 13 Lilac Road Old Teesville and 4 Sycamore Crescent, Old Teesville. He was the husband of Ruth Hambley.

Thomas worked with the Cargo Fleet steel works until being made redundant at age 17. He then joined the Navy. He was 19 years old at the time of his loss.
