Biographical Information:

"Jack", as he was known to his family and friends, was born in Bristol in OCtober 1907 the son of Thomas and Margaret Hogan. He attended King's School, Rochester, where he was a keen sportsman. He was the captain of the rugby team in 1924. He was serving as an acting Commander on VADM Holland's staff. He was 33 years old at the time of his loss.
