John Michael Hogan
"Jack", as he was known to his family and friends, was the son of Thomas and Margaret Hogan. He attended Kings School, Rochester, where he was a keen sportsman. He was the captain of the rugby team in 1924. He was serving as an acting Commander on VADM Holland's staff. He was 33 years old at the time of his loss.
