Biographical Information:

Harold as he was known, was born on 4th April 1905 in Southampton, Hampshire. He joined the Navy in the early 1920s. He spent much of his service time assigned to battlecruiser H.M.S. Repulse. An avid sportsman, he was an accomplished boxer while in the Navy. He is known to have won several silver trophies. He was also an excellent swimmer - one tale told to family members is that he once dived off the mast of the Repulse for a bet!

Harold married Elizabeth Walker in the late 1920s. Together they had three daughters (Pat, Eileen and Marjorie) and one son (Raymond). Sadly, Elizabeth was in poor health and never recovered from the loss of Harold. She died in 1946.

Harold was 36 years old at the time of his loss.
