Biographical Information:

Eric was born on 29th November 1921 in West Hartlepool, County Durham to Nicholas and Elizabeth Proudlock. He was the eldest of 4 children. His siblings were Edith, Allan and Joyce. The family later lived in York.

Eric joined the Navy in 1938. He trained at H.M.S. Caledonia prior to joining the crew of Hood. He was 19 years old at the time of his loss.
