Biographical Information:

"George" as he was known to his family and friends, was born on 9th October 1911 in Workington, Cumberland to William and Elizabeth Reay. He was married to Daisy Reay, of Sacriston, County Durham. He was the father of Janet Reay (born on the day he died). William was a recipient of the Croix de Guerre, RN, for actions at Narvik. He was 29 years old at the time of his loss.
