Biographical Information:

Ronald was born on 20th May 1917 to parents Thomas and Annie Bower, of 4 Prospect Road, Marlpool, Derbyshire. Ron decided join the Royal Navy despite being a miner - a reserved occupation. He was serving as a Stoker 1st Class and was 24 years old at the time of his loss.
