Biographical Information:

"Tim", as he was known to his friends, was born on 12th February 1901 in Cowes, Isle of Wight to Walter and Alice Foley. He is known to have had a sister, Irene. He attended Sholling School as a lad, and was later apprenticed at Thornycrofts. He served in the R.M.S. Mauretania before joining the Navy at age 18. He went on to serve for 22 years.

Tim was the the husband of Bertha Foley, of Woolston, Hampshire. He was also the father of two children. He was 40 years old at the time of his loss.
